Pak vs SA Statistical Highlights: ICC Champions Trophy 2013

After defeats in their first game, Pakistan and South Africa were to play a Do or Die game. On 10th June 2013, at Edgbaston both the teams met in the view of a must win game. Because the loser will be almost out from the tournament and the winner will be contending to go to the next round. The Proteas skipper AB de Villiers won the toss and chose to bat. South Africans got off to a good start with their openers Amla and Ingram putting up a 50 run stand. Ingram left the crease after scoring 20 but Amla went on to score 81 runs. But no one could play longer innings and the reason was not the Pakistani bowlers but the batsman themselves. Yes, 4 run outs in their inning. No firing in the death overs let SA make only 234/9 in 50 overs.
South Africa win by 67 runs and stay alive in the tournament

Pakistan to order collapsed by the debutant Chris Morris. Pakistan scored at very low run rate as they could manage only 18 runs in first 10 overs. The run rate was never thought of to be increased as the wickets kept on falling. Misbah's 55 couldn't win another game for Pakistan and they were bundled for 167 runs with Ryan McLaren taking 4 for 19. South Africa won the match by 67 runs.
