Ind vs WI Statistical Highlights: ICC Champions Trophy 2013

India and West Indies, both won their first league games against South Africa and Pakistan respectively met to decide the first semi finalist of the 2013 edition of ICC Champions Trophy. The climate was overcast but the heat was on! Hence the team winning the toss had to field first. India did the same and put West Indies to bat. The danger man Chris Gayle was soon sent back and which won India half of the game. Keeper Johnson Charles and Brian Lara's look alike Darren Bravo steadied the inning and brought up 100 runs on the scorecard in the 20th over. After which the Ravindra Jadeja magic began! He soon dismissed Charles, Samuels and Sarwan in successive overs. Skipper Bravo and Pollard scored 20s but couldn't score big. The wickets kept felling but the former Skipper Darren Sammy was in other ideas. He smashed 56*(35) in no time and took Indies to a good score of 233/9. Ravindra Jadeja took a 5-for.

India were dominating West Indies from the beginning

A good start by Indian openers, just like against South Africa, paved the way for what was to be seen as an easy win. Dhawan and Rohit put on another century partnership. Rohit scored a half century, while Dhawan went on to score another century. A little cameo from Virat Kohli and Dinesh Karthick's stable innings took India to a 8 wicket victory. India qualified for the Semi Finals.
