Aaron Finch's 156 off 63 breaks all Records !!

Aaron Finch smashed a marvelous 156 runs off 63 balls in the first T20 against England. This inning consisted of 11 fours and 14 huge sixes. In the way to this score Finch managed to rewrite the record books. This helped Australia score 248/6 in 20 overs and win the match by 39 runs as England scored 209/6 in reply. 

Finch completed his 50 in 26 balls, 100 in 47 balls and 150 in 60 balls. 

He hit a Six off his first ball, completed his 50 with a Six, completed his 100 with a Six and also completed his 150 with a Six.

# At the score of 73, he became the highest run getter in a T20I inning at Southampton. The record was held by Marcus Trescothick who scored 72 vs Sri Lanka at the venue in 2006.

# When he hit his 8th six, he broke the record for most sixes by an Aussie batsman in T20Is. Watson and Warner (Twice) had hit 7 sixes each in a T20I inning. 

# At the score of 95, he became highest run getter in a T20I inning against England. South Africa's opener Loots Bosman with his 94 in 2009 at Centurion held the record. 

# When he reached 99, he broke the record of 98* by Ricky Ponting which was the highest score by any Australian batsman in T20Is. Ponting scored 98* off 55 in the first ever T20 International against NZ at Auckland in 2005. It took 8 years for any Australian to overcome this. 

# Finch hit six off English Skipper Stuart Broad to complete the 10th 100 in T20 Internationals. He became the 9th batsman and first Australian to score 100 in T20Is. Only Brendon McCullum scored 2 T20I 100s.

# When Finch was at 121*, he again smashed a six off Broad to go past McCullum's score of 123 which was the highest score in International T20s. 

# With his 10th six he became only the 3rd batsman after Gayle and Levi to hit 10 or more Sixes in a T20I inning.

# At his score of 139*, another six this time off Briggs took him past Cameron White's 141* which was the highest score by any Australian in T20s.

# Aaron Finch added 114 for the second wicket with Shaun Marsh and added 101 for 3rd wicket with Shane Watson. He became the first player to involve in 2 century partnerships in a T20 International match.

* Australia's total of 248/6 is the second highest total in T20 Internationals behind Sri Lanka's 260/6 vs Kenya in 2007 WC.

* Australian inning consisted of 18 sixes which is a record in T20 Internationals. The previous record was held by South Africa who hit 17 sixes in their 241/7 against England at Centurion in 2009.

* England while chasing managed to score 209/6 in their 20 overs. This is the 3rd highest total in T20Is while batting second. Other 2 on top are Australia's 214/4 (tied) vs NZ and India's 211/4 (won) vs SL.

* Joe Root scored 90* (43). This is only the second instance in T20Is when two batsmen managed 90+ scores. The first such occasion was when Gayle (117) and Gibbs (90*) scored in the first match of 2007 WC.

* Joe Root in his inning of 90* hit 13 fours and 1 six. He became the first England batsman to hit 10 or more fours in a T20I match. 4 other England batsmen hit 9 fours. 

* Joe Root missed the record for most fours in a T20I inning by just one four. The record is 14 fours by Herschelle Gibbs when he scored 90* (55) vs WI in 2007 WC.

* Joe Root's 90* is the second highest score in defeats in T20 Internationals. The highest is 117 by Chris Gayle in the first match of 2007 WC vs SA. 

* Match aggregate of 457 runs is the highest in a T20 International eclipsing 428 between Aus and NZ at Christchurch in 2009.

* 7 bowlers gave away 40 or more runs in this match which is a record in this format. Previous record being 6 in the Aus vs NZ tied match at Christchurch in 2009.
