Alastair Cook - Second Youngest to score 25 Test Hundreds

Alastair Cook completed his 25th test century on the 4th day of the 2nd test vs NZ. He is the 17th player to do so and first by an England batsman. He also completed 7500 test runs, 7th by an England batsman. He also scored his 7th test century as captain only in his 11th innings as captain.

He has been a regular member of the ODI squad of England over the years as an classical batsman, useful all rounder and a brilliant fielder.

Best Batting and Bowling Performances in Tied ODI Matches

In the tied game between Pakistan and Ireland at Dublin on 23rd May had centuries from both the sides. Hafeez for Pakistan and Stirling for Ireland. This is only the second instance where batsman from both the teams scored a hundred and resulted in a tie. The other game was between India and England in the 2011 World cup, where Sachin and Strauss scored hundreds.

The tied game between Pakistan vs Ireland on 23rd May 2013 was the 28th tied game in ODI history, but only the 3rd tie when the target was revised by D/L Method.

Paul Stirling - 5 ODI Hundreds before the age of 23


Paul Stirling scored 103 off 107 balls against Pakistan in the first ODI at Dublin. This is his 5th ODI century and he is still under 23. This young dynamite have been a very consistent performer for Ireland since his debut, having played only 39 matches to complete 5 100s at average of 40.81 and a whooping strike rate of 96.21.
Only Virat Kohli, Sachin Tendulkar, Salman Butt and Upul Tharanga had more 100s than his before the age of 23 in ODIs.
