Here are some of the records held by Sir Don Bradman in Test Cricket who is known to be the greatest man to have played Cricket.


Most Runs in a Series - 974 vs Eng, 1930 (In England)

Most Runs in a Series by a Captain - 810 vs Eng, 1936/37

Most Double Centuries - 12 (Next best is 9 by Lara)

Most 250+ scores - 5 (334, 304, 299*, 270, 254)  (Next Best is Sehwag with 4 such scores)

Most Centuries against one team - 19 vs Eng (Next Best is 13 by Gavaskar vs WI)

Most Runs against one team - 5028 vs Eng (Next Best is 3636 by Hobbs vs Aus)

His Batting average of 99.94 is the highest for any batsman who has played more than 2 test matches.

His Batting average of 101.51 as a Captain in Tests is the highest for any batsman who captained more than 2 test matches.

Quickest to score 2000, 3000, 4000, 5000, 6000 runs (Very quick!)

Most Centuries in Consecutive Matches - 6

First player to score 2 triple centuries in Tests (Lara, Sehwag and Gayle are the others to achieve this)

First player to be involved in 2 partnerships of 400+ (Sangakkara and Jayawardene are the other 2)

Averages 70+ against all opponents he batted (vs Eng, Ind, WI, SA)

Most Runs in a day - 309 (Only player to aggregate 300+ runs in a day in Test Cricket)

Only player to score 200+ runs in a day on 5 occasions.

Only player to score 3 200s in a single Test Series.

Highest Inning batting at No.7 - 270 vs Eng, Melbourne, Jan 1937.

Holds the record for fastest to score a double centuries in terms of time. He reached his double century in 214 minutes vs Eng at Leeds in 1930.

He finished his Test Career with 29 centuries in 1948. It was a record until Sunil Gavaskar overcame by scoring his 30th century in 1983.
